As a subcontractor, filling out qualifications is easier than ever with BuildingConnected’s Qualifications. Below are instructions to help you complete and submit qualifications general contractors have invited you to that appear under the "Other Invites" tab.
When a general contractor invites you to qualify through BuildingConnected, you will receive an email notification. The qualification is also automatically added to the “New Invitations” column under your "Other Invites" tab.
To start, click on the link in the invitation email or the invitation listed.
The qualification will automatically open to the “Questionnaire” tab where you and other editors within your company can fill out the application. To learn more about editors, please reference the article, “How subcontractors can add and remove coworkers as editors on qualification applications.”
Please note: We recognize that qualifications often contain sensitive information. As a result, only individuals granted permission by internal team members are able to access qualification applications. For more information on qualification permissions and settings, please reference the article, “How subcontractors can manage permissions for the "Other Invites" tab”.
On the qualification application, section headings are listed on the right-hand side allowing you to easily jump to different sections.
Within qualification applications, you are also able to upload files to disclose safety programs and financials when requested.
To view and find any questions left unanswered, navigate to the top of the application page then click “Jump to next unanswered” on the right-hand side.
Mandatory questions are marked with an orange asterisk on the left hand side. If you come across a question that does not apply to your company but has been marked mandatory, please enter “0” or “N/A” so the system marks that question as complete.
Once you have answered all questions, you’ll be asked to sign your name and enter your title. Please click “Submit” to ensure that the qualification is received by the general contractor who sent the request.
Please note that if you do not fill all the required questions, you will not be able to submit. The questionnaire will jump you back to any missing question and highlight them with a red "Required" flag. It will continue to do this until all required questions are answered. See example below:
Please note that once you begin working on your qualification application, it will move from the “New Invitations” column to the “Draft in Progress” column in your "Other Invites" tab. You can ensure qualification applications have been submitted to general contractors successfully once applications move to the “Submitted” column.
Once you’ve submitted one qualification application, BuildingConnected remembers the data you entered so you will see information auto-populate on your next application and there is no need to re-enter the same information for each subsequent qualification.
