What is the market sector field?
The market sector field allows you to easily track the market sector of a bid. Example sectors include:
- Education - K12
- Government / Civic
- Highway / Street
- Office - Medical
- Residential - Multifamily
The field includes 54 different sectors, which were adopted from the list used by the U.S. Department of Labor. Once you add the market sector to a bid, you can view this in the “Reports” section of your Bid Board.
How to add market sector to a bid
To add market sector to a bid, begin by navigating to your Bid Board from the left-hand menu.
Click on the bid and you will be taken to the bid's “Overview” tab. Find the “Internal Use” card on the right-hand side of the bid, then click the “Edit" button.
Click on the drop-down menu next to "Market Sector."
Type the market sector you’d like to add or scroll through the list of all available market sectors. Click on the market sector or press "enter" on your keyboard to add the market sector to the bid.
Where will I see a bid’s market sector?
1. Internal Use section
A bid’s market sector will always be visible on the “Internal Use” card on the “Overview” tab, as shown below.
A bid's market sector can also be seen in the “Reports” section of your Bid Board.
To create a report that filters bids based on market sector, click the drop-down menu underneath the “Add Filter” header, then search for “Market Sector” and press the "enter" key.
Next, either begin typing the market sector you’d like to add, or scroll through the list of all available market sectors. Select the market sector you’d like to add. All bids containing that market sector will now appear in the report, as shown below.
From here, you can export the report directly to Excel by clicking on the “Export” button in the top right corner.
