As a subcontractor, once you have been invited to bid on a project by a general contractor you can easily submit bids through BuildingConnected.
First, navigate to your Bid Board and change the status of your bid invitation to “Accepted.” For information on how to change the status of a bid, please reference the article, “How subcontractors can accept and decline bids.”
From the “Accepted” tab on your Bid Board, click “Send or Log” on the right-hand side of the bid.
You can also create a proposal from within the bid by clicking on the bid title then clicking the “Bid Form” tab and clicking “Send or Log.”
On the bid form, you should see the title "Send proposal" and enter all required information marked with a red asterisk then upload any attachments you wish to include. Once the bid form is complete, click “Preview & send”.
Please note that if you do not fill in all of the required questions, you will not be able to receive a preview to submit and you will see any required items highlighted with a red flag.
Once you have completed the bid form and clicked "Preview & send", a window will pop up. Please confirm all information on the bid form is correct then click “Submit.” Once you click “Submit,” the GC will receive your proposal as well as an email notification.
Once your bid is submitted, you will receive a confirmation and if you have Bid Board Pro, you can enter a follow-up date to keep track of when you should follow up with the general contractor. Click "Add tracking data" to enter additional private tracking notes, or click "Go to bid board" to navigate back to your Bid Board.
You can ensure your bid was submitted successfully when the “Status” in the top right-hand corner of your bid says “Submitted" and the bid form now says "Sent proposal".
