What is a follower?
A follower is someone within the subcontractor’s company who has been added to a bid. This means they are able to view all bid information including files, messages, bid forms, and tracking.
How to add coworkers as followers on bids
To add coworkers as followers, navigate to your Bid Board then click on the bid you would like to add a coworker to.
Locate the “Team Summary” section on the right-hand side of the bid overview tab then click the “Add follower” button.
In the search bar, type the coworker's name you would like to add as a follower then click on their name or press “enter” on your keyboard.
If your coworker’s name does not populate, you can also add followers via email. To do so, type their email in the search bar then click “Invite” or press “enter” on your keyboard.
Once a coworker is added as a follower, they will receive an email notification and the bid will appear on their Bid Board.
Please note that if you add a coworker as a follower but they are listed as a vendor, they will not have full access to the bid. This could indicate they do not have an account in BuildingConnected or they are already part of another company within BuildingConnected.
For more information on vendors, please reference the article, "Vendor information for subcontractors."
How to remove coworkers as followers from bids
To remove a follower from a bid, click on the icon containing the initials or photo of the coworker you would like to remove then click “Remove.”
Once removed, this person will no longer have access to view any information, files, or messages associated with the bid. Your coworker will not receive a notification that they were removed as a follower and the bid will be removed from their Bid Board.
