As a general contractor with BC Pro, you can electronically seal projects to ensure all bids are kept confidential until the bid due date. Subcontractors will be able to submit and revise their bids until the bid due date, but no revisions or new bids will be accepted after the deadline has passed.
Please note that projects can only be electronically sealed before they are published. Once published, there is no way to electronically seal projects.
To create an electronically sealed project
Navigate to your Projects page.
Click on the unpublished project you would like to electronically seal.
Click on the "Information" tab then click "Edit Information."
Check the box "Keep bids sealed until the Bid Due Date.”
Click “Save Information.”
Once you have saved the project “Information” tab, the “Bids Due” section will be labeled as “Electronic Sealed Bidding.”
Please note that once an electronically sealed project is published, the project cannot be unsealed until after the bid due date has passed. While bids are sealed, the message below will appear on the “Bid Leveling” tab.
Electronically sealed projects will also have a small lock under the “Bids” column next to each bid package to signify that submitted bids are locked until after the bid due date.
Once a bid due date has passed, the “bid admin” can unseal bids. For information on how to unseal bids, please reference the article, “How general contractors can unseal bids (BC Pro).”
