BuildingConnected allows you to submit bids on behalf of subcontractors who you have invited to a project. This feature allows you to keep all proposals in a single place and is especially helpful in cases where an invited subcontractor submits their proposal over the phone.
To submit a bid on behalf of a subcontractor
To start, click on the project that the subcontractor was invited to.
Select the appropriate bid package.
Look for the subcontractor whose bid you’re submitting. You can use our “Jump to…” feature to quickly find the appropriate company. For instructions on how to use the “Jump to…” feature, please reference the article: What is the “jump to” feature and when should I use it?
Once the subcontractor is located within the bid package, look for the “No proposal submitted” section. Click on the “Create proposal” link.
Next, enter the necessary information. Once done, click on “Review & Submit.”
You will have the opportunity to edit the information entered before submitting the proposal. If everything is correct, click on “Submit."
You will immediately see the updates on the “Bidders” tab. The subcontractor’s status will change to “Submitted” and you will see the proposal amount listed in the panel on the right.
How to delete a bid you submitted on behalf of a subcontractor
Hover over the proposal you submitted for a bidder in the "Proposals" section and click on the trash icon.
You will be asked to confirm that deleting a proposal cannot be undone. Click "Delete Proposal".
Please note that if you have submitted multiple revisions on behalf of a subcontractor, if you need to remove an older submission, you must first remove the revision(s) before it. Then the trash icon will appear.
