As a general contractor with BC Pro, you have access to bid forms that can be customized to meet your project’s needs. This feature saves you time by allowing you to store the bid forms that you create so that you can easily use them for future projects.
This article goes over how to customize your bid form for lump sum bids. Additionally, this article provides instructions on how you can add inclusions to these bid forms so that you can easily confirm with bidders that they have included specific items in their bids. For information on how to customize your bid form with detailed breakouts please reference the article, How to customize your bid form with detailed breakouts (BC Pro).
To customize scope-specific bid forms with inclusions
There are two places where bid forms can be customized. Bid forms can be customized at the project level and in each individual bid package or bid package template (Scope-Specific Bid Forms).
If you are customizing the bid form directly on a project, start by clicking on the bid package for which you want to receive the lump sum bid. From the bid package’s “Bid Form” tab, click on “Edit.”
If you are customizing a bid form template, click on the "Scope-specific Bid Packages" tab.
Look for the scope for which you want to receive a lump sum bid. From the “Bid Form” tab, click on “Edit.”
You will see the scope listed under “Line Items.” This is where the subcontractor will enter the lump sum amount when submitting their bid.
Next, scroll down until you find the “Inclusions” section. Click on “Add inclusion.”
Add the questions you want to include in the scope-specific bid form and click “Save.”
You will immediately see the inclusions you added to the bid form.
If the bid form was customized directly on a project, the changes you made will automatically overwrite any previously existing bid form questions.
Please note that if you customize a bid form template, the changes made will only be applied to the template. You can import templates into a project by referencing the article, How general contractors can import bid form templates (BC Pro).
Once subcontractors submit bids, you will be able to see the inclusion questions added to your bid form from the project’s Bid Leveling tab.
