The bid package lead is the individual from within a general contractor’s company from which invites to subcontractors are addressed from. By default, the bid package lead is the individual who created the bid package, but as a general contractor with BC Pro, you can change the lead at any time. As a best practice, we recommend designating the bid package lead before the bid package is published so the invitation to subcontractors will come from the correct point of contact.
This is helpful if different coworkers are responsible for bidding out different trades so subcontractors can communicate with the correct point of contact.
How to designate a bid package lead
From your project, click on the bid package you would like to change the lead for.
Navigate to the “Overview” tab.
Click “Edit” next to “Bid Package Information.”
Click on the drop-down next to “Bid Package Lead.”
Click on the name of your coworker you would like to designate as the new bid package lead.
Click “Save.” Please note that the original bid package lead will not be notified when the lead has been changed.
The new bid package lead’s initials or profile picture will appear next to the bid package on the project level.
Please note that when a bid package has a different lead than the project lead, the bid package lead will override the project lead. This means that any subcontractors invited to the bid package will receive the invite from the bid package lead.
