As a general contractor, you can view and reply to project and bid package messages. This functionality keeps all communication in one place and allows you to reference messages at later times to help maintain accurate records. This article explains how to attach files to messages.
To attach a file to a message
For instructions on how to send project messages through BuildingConnected, please reference the article: How general contractors can send messages.
In the Message window, navigate to “Attach Files.” Click on it.
Find the file you wish to attach to your message. Once selected, click “Open.”
The file will be automatically attached to the message. However the message has not been sent. As a best practice, we recommend that you double-check that the correct file is attached and the correct recipients have been selected before clicking on “Send.”
If you attached the incorrect file, you can remove the attachment by clicking on the minus symbol located to the right of the attached file. Please note that attachments can only be removed from messages before the message is sent.
You will immediately see the message listed under the project’s “Messages” tab.
