BuildingConnected’s Bid Leveling feature makes it easy to confirm that the subcontractors you’ve invited to a project are all pricing the same scopes or services. Our Proposal Viewer can be used with Bid Leveling to quickly enter bid details on behalf of subcontractors.
This article goes over how to use Proposal Viewer to submit bids on behalf of subcontractors who are in the BuildingConnected Network. This functionality is helpful in cases where a bid was submitted as an attachment through BuildingConnected, over email or over the phone.

To access Proposal Viewer
Start from the bid leveling tab of the appropriate project. For information on Bid Leveling please reference the article: How to access bid leveling.
Click on the drop-down menu next to the name of the company for which you are making a revision.
Proposal Viewer can also be accessed from the Bidders tab by clicking on “Create Proposal” and also by clicking on “Create a revision.”
Back in the Bid Leveling tab, click on “Create Revision” from the list.
You’ll be directed to the bid package’s bid form. Click on the “Upload” button.
Select the appropriate file and then click on “Open.”
Alternately, you can drag and drop the appropriate file on the right side of this window.
Note: Only PDF files can be uploaded into Proposal Viewer. Click here or instructions on how to convert Word documents into PDF files. Click here for instructions on how to convert Excel documents into PDF files.
The upload will begin automatically. Once uploaded, you’ll be able to see the details of the file on the right.
Proposal Viewer does not automatically add data into the bid form after a PDF is uploaded. However, you can use this side by side view to easily make the necessary revisions directly on the bid form. Once the appropriate details have been entered, click on “Review & Submit” to proceed to the next step.
You’ll be asked to confirm the details of the revision before submitting. Click on “Back to Edit” if an adjustment is needed. Otherwise click on “Submit.”
Note: Subcontractors do not receive a notification when a revision has been made to their bid. However, the subcontractor will be able to see the updated amount from their BuildingConnected account.
You will immediately see the updated amount listed in the Bid Leveling tab.
