As a subcontractor with Bid Board Pro, you can send proposals for opportunities that originated outside of BuildingConnected to your client, including manually created opportunities, forwarded opportunities, copied opportunities, and opportunities discovered via client suggestions. This feature allows you to track all bids and proposals on your online Bid Board in BuildingConnected and maintain accurate analytics and reports.
To send proposals to clients outside of BuildingConnected
Begin by clicking “Send or Log” to the right of the opportunity name from your Bid Board.
You can also send your proposal by clicking on the opportunity then navigating to the “Bid Form” tab.
The “To” field will automatically populate your client’s email address that was added when the opportunity was created. You can change the recipient by clicking the “x” next to the email address.
Type the new recipient’s email address then press “enter” on your keyboard or click “Add.”
You can also CC any coworkers or additional emails by typing the name of your coworker or an email address, then pressing “enter” on your keyboard. Please note that the “To” and “CC” fields cannot contain more than 50 email addresses.
Enter your proposal value, subject, message, and attach your proposal. Please note that the subject line has a limit of 60 characters, the message field has a limit of 2,000 characters, and file sizes must be less than or equal to 7MB.
The “Send a copy to myself” box is automatically selected. This will BCC your email address when your proposal is sent to your client so you also receive a copy in your inbox. If you do not wish to receive a copy, unselect “Send a copy to myself.” Please note that coworkers and other emails cannot be BCC’d.
You can also print your proposal for your records by clicking “Print.”
When you are ready to send your proposal, click “Preview.”
The email sent to your client and those CC’d will match the rendering shown on the “Preview” window. When you are ready to send your proposal, Click “Send Proposal.” Otherwise, click “Back to edit.”
Please note that the email will come from “First Name Last Name <email@example.com>”, as shown in the preview. If anyone replies to your email, it will be delivered to the email inbox of the individual who sent the proposal and will not be tracked in the “Messages” tab in BuildingConnected.
Once your proposal is sent, your bid will move to the “Submitted” tab on your Bid Board.
