As a general contractor, the messaging feature within projects allows you to conveniently send project updates and organize all communication in a central location. Continue reading to learn how to send messages to bidding companies that you invited to your project.
To message different companies
Navigate to the project’s “Messages” tab. Click on “New Message.”
In the “To” field, start typing the name of the company you wish to message. Click on the name from the drop-down menu to add the company as a recipient.
Alternately, you can scroll through the list of companies and click on the company name from the list.
Enter the message you wish to send. Please note that it is not possible to retrieve or to delete messages once they have been sent. We ask that you please confirm that the recipients in the “To” field and that the message is correct before clicking on “Send.”
Once you confirm that all details are correct, click “Send.”
You will see the message listed in the “Messages” tab. You will only see one recipient listed from this view.
Open the message and click on “View All” to see a list of all the companies who received the message.
Please note that the recipients cannot see the other companies who were also sent the message:
If a recipient replies to a message that was sent to multiple companies, only the general contractor will be able to see the reply. Additionally, general contractors are notified when they receive a response to a message that they sent through BuildingConnected.
