BuildingConnected’s Bid Leveling feature makes it easy to confirm that the subcontractors you’ve invited to a project are all pricing the same scopes or services. If a subcontractor excludes pricing, our Bid Leveling tool allows you to make cost adjustments called “Plugs” to their proposal.
Click here for a quick video tutorial of how to use our Bid Leveling tool.
To add plugs to a proposal
Start by navigating to the appropriate proposal within the Bid Leveling tab.
Find the amount you want to add a plug for and click on it. A pop up will appear where you can add the adjusted cost and a note.
Enter the adjusted cost and leave a quick note so that other members on your team know why the plug was added. Click “Enter” on your keyboard to save the changes made.
Note: Subcontractors are not notified when a plug is added to their submitted proposal. Click here for more information on which actions taken in the Bid Leveling tab are visible to subcontractors.
The submitted amount will automatically update to include the adjusted cost. For ease, the Base Bid is listed below. Additionally, plugs are highlighted in orange so that you can quickly identify them.
